This page tries to give an impression of what a personality entails. A personality model is presented that is based on neuroscientific insights, clinical experience and trauma therapy.
Personality can be described as a fairly fixed form of a complex mix of emotions, thoughts and behavior. Fixed because someone's personality doesn't just change within 1 day. That's because the complex mix of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are held together by established procedures in our brain and body. These procedures are, for example, the way our nerve-, support- and other cells in our body work together. This happens both chemically (using neurotransmitters) and electrically.
Such procedures are fixed, laws in our body. Not just of us, but of all living animals in fact.
Basically, personality has 3 major pillars, which can be clearly seen in the picture below: Emotions (body), Thoughts and Behavior. You may use the image for your own presentations as long as you add that it was found on this website: www.the-psychology-insider.com.
